Hey there! I’m Home Girl K, the driving force behind Home Girl Homestead. This is where the charm of the country and the energy of the city collide. I grew up in Simla, after starting life in Colorado Springs. My story weaves through rural dreams set against urban backdrops.

I’m a police officer’s wife and a mom to four energetic kids. Our home buzzes with activity. Add Chewy the St. Bermastiff, Prentiss the husky mix, and Thunder the Malinois, and you’ve got a lively urban farm.

Dreaming big, I imagine life on a farm with mini cows, donkeys, fluffy chickens, and a majestic gypsy vanner horse. Kenny Chesney’s “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” is my anthem. Home Girl Homestead shares my journey in gardening, canning, and living thriftily. I also dive into sewing, crafting cheer bows, and dreaming about Disney World.

Chewy: Our Gentle Giant

Let me introduce you to Chewy, our St. Bermastiff. His hugs are legendary, and his drool? It’s turned our ceilings into works of art. His “Beethoven” head shakes shower everyone, making us all laugh.

Tractor Magazine Day: A Dream

“Tractor Magazine Day” is a highlight for me. It’s when I fantasize about owning a John Deere Combine. I’ve even thought about trading in our Tahoe for it. My desk at work, complete with a Lego combine and a mini farm, gets curious looks. Maybe it’s time to start wearing overalls and boots to work.
